When the meal arrived, I realised why: Two 'small' haddock ('large' in any other chipshops' book) balanced precariously on a monster pile of chunky chips like a gastronomic game of Jenga: Which item to remove first? The size of the meal was such that it could cause serious injury if it fell on anyone!
So far, so value for money.
What did it taste like? Well, the bread coating was perfectly crisped, and gave way to the fish itself which was delicious, creamy and succulent. Probably the freshest fish I haven't pulled from the sea and cooked immediately on a beach fire myself.
Chips were excellent too, second, I would say, only to Mhor Fish in Callander, but that's probably not fair, because they use beef dripping.
Five stars!
